An ordinary person may consider meditation as a worship or prayer. But it is not so. Meditation means awareness. Meditation can be listening to the birds; going for a walk; jogging or gardening. As long as these activities are free from any other distraction to the mind, it is effective meditation.
Meditation is a profound form of relaxation that helps us to contact our inner spiritual source. This is not a subjective claim but is now being investigated by the scientists and being shown by an empirical fact.
Regular practice of meditation can bring about a state of inner peace and calmness that affects all aspects of our lives. The aim of meditation is to quiet the constant chatter of the mind, so that you can experience a state of inner stillness that is healing and regenerating.
